Why we built Perimenopause Clarity

For years, we were told it was stress. Anxiety. Burnout. Maybe just getting older.

Our sleep was unravelling. Our moods had a will of their own. The weight crept on with nothing in our diets to explain it. Some of us ended up in a cardiologist’s office over heart palpitations, only to be told nothing was wrong. We knew something was wrong. We just couldn’t get anyone to name it.

For most of us, the word perimenopause didn’t come from a doctor or a specialist. It came from a forum thread at 2am, from a stranger describing our exact lives back to us. That was the moment things started to make sense.

Why we built this

The information is out there. But it’s scattered, clinical, and usually written for someone who already knows what they’re dealing with. Perimenopause Clarity is for the woman who’s still in the confusing middle: the one who knows something is off but can’t get a straight answer.

We’re a small team of health writers and researchers who have lived some version of this story ourselves. We cover the different corners of it: symptoms and what’s actually happening in your body, testing options, treatment paths, and the telehealth providers and products genuinely doing this well. Everything is written in plain language and kept up to date.

Our promise on recommendations

When we link to a product or service, it’s because we believe it will help, not because it pays the most. Some of those links earn us a commission, which is how we keep the site running and the research going. It never changes what we recommend or what we tell you about it.

A note on medical advice

We’re health writers and researchers, not doctors. Nothing here is medical advice, and it’s no substitute for a qualified healthcare provider who knows your history. What we can do is help you walk into that appointment informed, with the right questions and a clearer picture of what might be going on.

If you have a question, or you want to share your own story, we’d love to hear from you at hello@perimenopauseclarity.com.
